JAXSON'S JOURNEY

Welcome

Welcome to Jaxson’s Journey! I have thought about starting a blog for a few months now, but have been afraid to go public about Jaxson’s disability. Since June 30th is Arthrogryposis Awareness Day, I’ve decided it’s time to be vulnerable and take the plunge.

I hope to use this blog to share everything that we’ve tried with Jaxson, to spread awareness, and to hopefully help other families who have a loved one with Arthrogryposis. I certainly do not have all the answers, but I’m doing my best to find out everything that I can to make a difference in my sons life.

I hope you enjoy!

Christina

What is Arthrogryposis? Arthrogryposis, also called arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC), is a term used to describe a variety of conditions involving multiple joint contractures (or stiffness). A contracture is a condition where the range of motion of a joint is limited. (https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/arthrogryposis#:~:text=What%20is%20arthrogryposis%3F,of%20a%20joint%20is%20limited)

Arthrogryposis is a rare condition characterized by joint contractures and muscle weakness, which can make movement and flexibility difficult. It can present unique challenges for individuals and their families.
